Kidd Valley Teacher of the Year Winners

Kidd Valley Teacher of the Year 2016

SEATTLE – June 24, 2016 – For the past 13 years, Kidd Valley Restaurants has called on Washington students to submit why their classroom leader should be recognized as “Teacher of the Year,” and every year entries pour in telling inspiring tales of creative teaching and mentoring. This year was no exception, and Kidd Valley is pleased to announce Joe Bailey of Queen Anne Elementary School as the grand prize winner of Kidd Valley’s Teachers of the Year.

In a late June ceremony, Mr. Bailey was presented the winning prize package: a $500 check to put toward the purchase of class supplies, a commemorative plaque and the official title of “Teacher of the Year.” Plus, the nominating students of the grand prize winners received a Kidd Valley Kids Meal for every student in their class.

Mr. Bailey was nominated by his fourth-grade student, Abby Kvart, for his ongoing dedication to his students, ensuring they are challenged in the classroom and always having fun while learning. Mr. Bailey is always encouraging students to set and reach their goals, and creates a fun, welcoming environment in the classroom. He created a program for students called “Genius Hour” which allows students to focus on their passion, and stemming from their passion to create something that will make the world a better place. “Passion Time” is another activity for students, where they are able to recognize their passions and have the opportunity to learn more about them through in-depth study during class time.
